git introduction
Introductory double punch into the wonderful world of version control
These presentations were part ot the Open Data Science workshop of the Department for the Ecology of Animal Societies at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior.
The first part covers a basic introduction to git, how to initialize a repository and connect it to a github account. The second part is more focussed on collaborative git usage, introducing branching and forking repositories.
The presentations are accompanied by two worksheets (I and II), containing a rundown of the code used for the examples discussed in the presentations.
