Three Seas 35
So this is where the data comes from?
When: 18.01. - 12.02.2017
Where: Bocas del Toro, Panama
At the end of my Masters, Oscar Puebla offered me to TA the Reef fishes class of the Three seas programm by Northeastern University, which he taught in collaboration with Marcus Drymon. The class was held at the STRI station at Bocas del Toro Panama, so for me this was super exciting, since that was the sampling location of the hamlets I had just written my thesis about. Sure, I was eager to see the hamlets live in their habitat.
The class was much fun, and besides the lectures & seminars we spent a large proportion of the time diving. In the field, we did spawning observations and assesed the fish community.
After the class, we spend some more days at the STRI station and got started with our hamlet phenotying project. For this we collected hamlets while diving and took standardized photos to later analyze their color patterns.
